Dirty Carpets Are Hazardous to Your Home and Health
When maintained correctly, carpeting improves the air in your home visit us. A carpet offers much more to the home than a soft surface. It is your carpet that filters the air in your house and removes allergens.
Dr. Michael Berry, Ph. Michael B. Berry Ph.D. was the former director at EPA Environmental Criteria and Assessment Office. Berry says in his book, “Protecting the Built Environment Carpet Cleaning for Health”, the dirtyest carpets present the biggest challenge to indoor cleaning. Care and maintenance are the only way to fix it. He said the carpet was similar to a drain, which collected pollutants both from inside and out. As the sink fills, it will collect dirt, dust and pollutants. Once the sink fills up, you should empty it. Cleaning your carpet properly is very important.
The problem of indoor air pollution cannot be underestimated. Well, it’s true. This is true. The air is not replaced fully. New air replaces the air that is being blown out. The carpet can contain pollutants that are released in the air. Your carpet can become a dump of pollutants when you step on it. The dust particles get spread around and are inhaled when the carpet is walked. You can easily see dust particles in the sunlight or air. We breathe air continuously, which is the cause of indoor air pollution.
Berry says carpets that are not regularly cleaned can create biopollutants. Be sure to regularly clean your sinks and carpets. When the carpets look dirty, they are cleaned. When you first notice dirt, your carpet is most likely filthy. The importance of vacuuming correctly cannot be overstated. Only 15% of actual soil can be removed by the cheapest vacuums. All the remaining dirt, allergens and pollutants, including bacteria, will continue to accumulate. Berry says people don’t clean their carpets enough in order to keep the air cleaner.
